Terms of service

These terms govern your use of this website and any order you place with MetalsbandDesign ("we", "us", "our"). By placing an order you accept them.

Made-to-order goods

All items are hand-forged to order. Nothing is held in stock. Production takes approximately 1–2 weeks before dispatch, and delivery time is additional. Estimated dates given at checkout or by email are estimates in good faith, not guarantees, and delays caused by carriers or customs are outside our control.

Handmade variation

Because each piece is forged individually, no two are identical. Pattern, colour, texture and etch depth vary from piece to piece, and heat-anodized and Damascus finishes vary by their nature. Product photographs show representative examples, not the exact item you will receive. This variation is a characteristic of the process, not a defect, and is not grounds for return under our refund policy — though an item that is materially different from what was described is.

Sizing

You are responsible for supplying the correct ring size. We publish a detailed size guide and will advise on request before you order. Rings are forged in US sizes 4–16 in half sizes; other sizes are made to specification and treated as personalised items.

Personalisation and engraving

Where you supply engraving text or other personalisation, you are responsible for its accuracy. We will send the layout for your confirmation before cutting, and we will not proceed until you approve it. Once approved and cut, the piece cannot be altered or returned except where faulty. You confirm that any text, image or design you supply does not infringe the rights of a third party, and you accept responsibility for it. We reserve the right to decline any personalisation request at our discretion.

Pricing and availability

Prices are in US dollars and may change without notice. We make every effort to keep listings accurate, but if an item is listed at an incorrect price or with a material error in its description, we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than fulfil it. Some materials — superconductor and certain Damascus and Timascus billets in particular — are available in finite quantity and may be discontinued without notice.

Orders and cancellation

Your order is an offer to buy, which we accept when we confirm it. You may cancel within 2 days of ordering provided we have not already begun work. We may decline or cancel any order, and will refund you in full if we do.

Returns

All items are made to order and are sold as final sale. We do not accept returns or offer refunds for change of mind. We do replace or refund any item that is faulty, damaged in transit, or not what you ordered, at our cost. Returns are governed in full by our refund policy, which forms part of these terms.

Care and suitability

Different metals require different care, set out in our care guide. Damage resulting from failure to follow that guidance — corrosion on carbon Damascus left wet, abrasive polishing of an anodized surface, water damage to a wood inlay, or use of an ultrasonic cleaner — is not a manufacturing defect and is not covered.

Safety: solid metal rings can be caught and crushed against equipment. Remove rings before heavy lifting, operating machinery, or any activity where a ring may be snagged. You accept this risk.

Intellectual property

All content on this site — photographs, text, designs and marks — belongs to us or our licensors and may not be reproduced without written permission.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — and nothing here affects the statutory rights of a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, and the courts of Maryland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
