Timascus · Zirconium
A hand-forged Zircuti wedding band, black zirconium layered with titanium, made to order in the workshop.
Timascus is layered titanium alloy. The color comes from heat treatment growing an oxide layer on the surface — blues, purples and golds that shift with the light. Nothing is painted or coated, so it will not chip or peel, though the color fades slightly with time.
Zirconium is heat-treated until the surface converts to a hard black oxide. That black is the metal itself, not a plating, and it is considerably harder than the material underneath it.
Forged, not cast
Hammered by hand, after you order
Most jewellery is cast: molten metal poured into a mould. This piece is forged instead, heated, hammered and finished by hand, one at a time, and only once you have ordered it with the options you chose.
Estimated delivery is 10–14 business days from ordering. Yours will differ from the photograph in the detail of its pattern. No two come out the same.

Returns & warranty
Made to your size and specification, so all sales are final, and every piece is fully covered:
- 1-year warranty — if anything goes wrong with the piece within a year, we repair or replace it free, shipping included.
- Damaged in transit or not what you ordered — replaced or refunded in full at our cost. Tell us within 14 days.
- We sent the wrong size — free remake, we pay the postage.
- Ordered size does not fit — remade at half price, plus postage.

When will my order arrive?
Estimated delivery is 10–14 business days from ordering, including making and transit. Engraving can add one to two additional business days. If you need it for a wedding or another fixed date, contact us before ordering. Full detail on the shipping page.
What if it does not fit?
We forge you a new one in the right size. If we sent the wrong size, the new ring is free, shipping included. If the size you ordered does not fit, the new ring is half the original price plus shipping, and you keep the original. Check the ring size guide first; use a ring sizer that matches your chosen band width. Do not add a quarter or half size automatically; contact us before ordering if you are unsure.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, one year on every piece. If anything goes wrong with it in the year after delivery, whatever the cause, we repair it or forge a replacement free, and pay the shipping both ways.
What is your returns policy?
It is forged to order to the options you choose, so all sales are final. You are fully covered all the same. Anything damaged in transit or not what you ordered is replaced or refunded in full if you tell us within 14 days of delivery, and the one-year warranty covers the rest. See the refund policy.
Is the colour a coating?
No. It is an oxide layer grown on the surface with heat, not a dye or a plating, so there is nothing to chip or flake. A soft cloth keeps it at its best; skip polishing compound.
Is the black zirconium plated?
No. The surface is oxidised into a hard black ceramic, grown into the metal rather than laid on top, so it will not wear through with normal use. Like any ceramic, keep it clear of hard knocks against stone.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Titanium, zirconium and Timascus are excellent for sensitive skin. Mokume gane contains nickel and copper, and copper can leave a harmless temporary green mark. With a known nickel allergy, choose titanium or zirconium, or ask us.
